I know this is a stretch but wondered if any TPErs are heading to the poker tourney at Hollywood Northern Indiana. I am entering Event 1. I don't have a lot of experience playing so any good tips would be appreciated. The last time playing a tourney, I ended up winning it but it was a daily donkament tourney so this is night and day different. I play live cash poker.
Great podcast by Cougars4444 and Wien about making adjustments but any other tips. I think I will go in with kackies and a button down then on day 3, I will wear a TPE hoodie and sunglasses and jeans for the Final Table.
I'm thinking of playing day 1B – Looking for a cheap hotel – any thoughts?
There is a Holiday Inn Express close I do believe. I am doing 1A. I live in Lexington. I will just find a hotel in Cincy that evening.

i think its always good to remember: you cant win a 3 day tourney on day 1 but its easy to lose it there.;)
just watched the video by Hagbard and HITTHEPANDA on live tourney before the WSOP. I am little concerned of the structure. The question I have is the time. 30 minute blinds seems pretty sucky to me. I haven't had much experience live but online but seems to compare with a turbo deepstack. It is 20K in chips to start and the kicker is the 30 minute levels. I wanted some live MTT grinders opinion on this. The event #1 is THE one on the schedule that has the most field and the 300K Guarantee and is a re-entry event as well.

nah i think the blindstructure is ok for 30 min levels
for example im going to play a 2 day tourney this weekend at my local casino and they have a way worse structure
also 20k starting stack and 30 min levels but
level 10 is already 100 1k/2k while your tourney is 75 400/800
