Just won a seat to the PCA $10K Main event in January on pokerstars. What is the best way to prepare/train to play a live major event?

awesome!!! I would study a bunch here, do a ton of HH reviews of your online sessions, but also try and get out and play a little bit of live poker if you are able to do that where you are based.

Most of all, have fun! That tournament is a great one.

Thanks. I’m from Ontario Canada
Your training videos are so extensive, just wondering which ones I should focus on. I know TPE helped me get this far.

The recent series from Andrew where he reviews a live event might be a good one to take a look at.

Thanks for the plug KB. Congrats on the seat, petvet.

I think it’s important that you don’t set your sights too high or get too emotionally invested in this tournament. Of course it will be a big deal to you, but ultimately it’s just another poker tournament. Probably you are not going to cash. That’s nothing personal, it’s just a fact of MTTs, and I think that reminding yourself of that is one of the best ways to avoid weak-tight play, take good spots when they come, and give yourself the best chance of cashing.

Take the opportunity to study, learn from the experience, and have fun!
