Any recommendations on topics I should review for Deep stack tournaments?  Any Advice?

I’ve been playing and studying poker for over 8 years.

I travel a great deal for my job and vacations which allows me a to play a lot of Cash and live nightly tournaments.    In the last two years, I’ve cashed or won in Helsinki, Brussels, Amsterdam,  San Jose , Washington st, Chicago, and Omaha.    Several of these were for anywhere 2K to 5K.

Yet, I’ve played in 3 HPT/WSOP Circuit 2 days events, and I feel like dead money.  I’ve tried to tighten up my game and play premium hands only or position poker in the early stages, then try to widen my range after the antes kick in, yet I can rarely stay much above 20K and after 4 -5 hours, I fall under 20 BB and have to look at shoving.

I’ve been able to make it to level 9 and 12 this week at the Horseshoe WSOP, but not really in good enough shape to be in contention.

Yet I see several pro/really good players constantly accumulating chips.

Any thoughts?

TIA

The circuit events can be tough.  You don’t get tons of chips and the levels are kinda short.

I would still saw play smart, play position.  Just remember that FOLDING some times isn’t always bad.  Don’t get into EGO battles with the clowns.  Stay away from the GOOD players if you can.  Again, don’t let you EGO take over.  See who’s bad at your table and try to take advantage of it.  Create a GOOD image.  glgl

I have this problem, and it can be that you’re playing too tightly, but as it’s been said, short levels make it harder to make moves.

It’s OK to be bluffed, is the one thing I would add. But if you’ve been playing tightly, your bluff catchers may be worth more.
