I understand that live rake is higher than online. If you add in dealer tips then you have a large chunk of the pot going missing. Some places however take “time” every 30 minutes. How is this comparable to rake?

When we sit at a table using times based rake we are essentially losing money just by sitting at the table. How do we counter this with a profitable strategy? Are we forced to play more hands to compensate? That of course has it's own negative variance complications.

Any advice on playing live cash games (especially 2/5+) would be appreciated.

Borgata is $10/hr for 2/5. I feel like this is less than you pay if they raked pots instead.

Just identify the fish and play pots in position against them. There's not a whole lot more to it if you can read hands and range opponents well…
