Anyone play Delaware Park tournaments? I live in DC and have gone a few times. They're having a big bounty weekend starting the 27th. I'm planning on going for the 28th for the $400 with $100 bounties. It's a big jump in buy in for me but I want to make the jump to the bigger game. I have played in $100 live tourneys and some $65 and final tabled a few times. Should I be crushing those before moving on to bigger games? I'm not really bankrolled just using some discretionary funds and hopefully get a bankroll going.

If anyone has any insight I'd appreciate about Delaware Park, other casinos in the area, getting a bankroll going etc.

Delaware Park is without a doubt the SOFTEST place to play tourney/cash poker in the Philly/Atlantic City Casino region in my opinion.  I was at Del Park for there last big Greg Raymor series.  Depending on the series, you may see some of the area's very good/solid poker tourney regs. And depending on the money GTD's you may see some area pro's like Lee Child's/Matt Glantz/Adam Cook/Gordon Eng ect…. But other then that, it's a FISH pond.  If you go play TAG or LAG and follow what you've learned on this sight you should have no problems cashing and crushing.  I've done ok the last few times I've been.  there are other guys on the site that could tell you more and agree with me.  Hammer, DanTastic and other say the tourneys and cash games are all soft………….

It's a good place to get your feet wet before you take the big plunge and play a major at Borgata where most of the sharks are come tourney time.

Delaware Park could possibly be the softest spot that I've ever played a cash game / tourney at. I believe that people call bets and float flops without a plan which allows aggro people like me to take away allot of pots on the turn and river.. I've found out you hardly get called down by 2nd, 3rd pair, but when they have the nuts you will know. I haven't seen very many people try and diguise their hands at all.. for example: The Greg Raymor tourney that I played.. blinds are at 500 / 1k UTG raises to 3.5 I have about 27k behind, so I throw out a three bet to commit myself to any shove and I am planning on shoving any flop.. Well he flats and has abou 19k behind after his terrible flat… flop comes 10 2 6 He just shoves into me, knowing he could be doing this with any PP I snap with KK and he flips over AQ and says ” the only way I was winning is by shoving here ” I just kind of laughed and said nice hand sir and picked up all my things and was ready to walk. I didn't feel good about the hand at all and he did hit an Ace on the river and celebrates hard, any good player would just shove pre or Fold I guess could happen a little % of the time. I just love the play out there and if you can keep from getting on the gambling side of things then you will be fine.

I agree with the level of play I've seen there so far. They love to draw to big hands I took two bad beats in consecutive hands with flopped sets and guys drawing to straights. Almost a took a third after flopping a straight and villain turned a bigger straight but luckboxed into a chop.

I played a little cash and seen some guys try to get fancy. I think if I stick to my game which is mostly TAG (although I do have some leaks) I think I can do alright.

Anyone else going or have any DE Park experiences?

If your TAG you can open your range up a bit against those moh-moh's.  At times, it's a limp fest…..  Pick your spots, stay TAG, you'll get to limp in certain spots with marginal hands, just be careful n don't get too tricky….. You'll make money in both tourneys and cash.

Everything Dan said……………FISH pond, lol.  I know, I used to be one
