Well, event #1 at Borgata is over.  What tough table draws.  Very happy with my play.  Got good cards, but seemed to get out flopped when I had big pairs or people floated and caught up on turn or river.  Made two huge lay downs vs. local pro Nick Frangios WSOP event runner-up (he was ahead both times).

My downswing continues, but if I play like I did today.  I'll be turning that around quickly.  Back tomorrow for event #2

Thank you TPE

Well………. Borgata Classic is done for me.  Had a great start to my event #3 on Saturday.  W/ 2006 braclet winner Mike Sica on my left.  Ran it up to 34k (started w/20) then got crushed by a HUGE cooler.  My AA vs  QQ & JJ (both shorter then me and JJ guy was huge aggro knit)..  J on flop, Q on river.  Really? lol  down to 12k.  Sica was getting hit by deck and playing well.  He busted me w/ QQ vs. my AK.

I was unlucky, but happy with my play.  Next stop, WSOP Chester

Going down to play the 1k on Fri at Borgata, event #15. It's been about 7 or 8 months since I played a live event – it came to the point that it made much more sense to play online on weekends.

Anyone going down?

Played the 1k yesterday – 160 entrants, paying 18. 22 left and I have about 40 bbs at 1000/2000 300. I open my standard 2.5x utg w QQ and it folds around to Dwight Pilgrim to my right. He 3 bet shoves 30 bbs,

I snap call – he shows K8o!. K hits the flop and I'm out two hands later. Then there was the 50bb+ pot I lost about 1hr before that – AA<KK, runner runner flush.

It was a little disheartening for sure, but one think playing online has taught me is that these bad beats are almost standard and will happen all too often.  But all in all, I was extrememly happy with the way I played.

Playing online has def improved my live game immensely.

mmFitter…….sounds like you played well.  Amazing how the good players like DP and Vanessa S (her 8 4 off vs. AA pre-flop all-in @ her NAPT win early in tourney) hit the raggy hands and crush dreams, lol.

P – After I busted I heard he did the same thing to Gordon Eng, 3bet shoved, I cant say how many bbs exactly but I can assure you it was more than your standard 18-22 bbs, with A9o vs QQ again and he hit the A.

I spoke to him regarding our hand the next day, and he told me he did that because it was very close to the bubble and I would have to have a big hand to call his shove. I see his point, but 30+bbs to an utg opener when there was nothing to suggest I was opening light? Idk, that doesn't seem like a great play to me. But what do I know – he did win almost $3 mill in live earnings last year.

nice job mm…huge sigh at those beats though.  I find them a lot tougher to take live.
