Hi all, i have a few friends who have played online for years and when i was recently laid low by illness for a few months i decided i might give it a go, unfortunately they were playing at 20 and 30 dollar buy in which wasn't practical for someone starting from scratch so have been looking at buy ins of about a dollar thinking they might help me along but sadly in true “you know who your friends are” style they gave me no encouragement whatsoever, with comments such as you can't take up the game at 45 and play small limits as by the time you get good enough to be winning at those limits and then the time after to build up a bankroll to play same limits as them i'll be ancient.

So as my personality has always been when someone says i can't do something i have to do it, my target is now to not only catch up but go past them as quickly as possible as even though they cash middle places only one of them has actually ever won a tournament with over 500 people in it and that is after many years playing.

As to wether a 45 year old from Scotland can actually make it happen i figure theres only one way to find out so have signed up for a month initially and i'll see where i'm at as i go along.

Sorry to ramble on, will go and have a good look round now and see what knowledge i can absorb.
