Hi Folks,

I’m a Safety Director from Wisconsin that has been playing hold em poker since 2004. Since 2007 I have been playing SnGs and MTTs virtually exclusively. I play live MTT ranging from $40 to $180 buy ins at my local casino, and I play online typically ranging from $2.20 to $33 buy ins. That said, most of 1k+ scores been a result of first winning satellites to $109 and greater buy ins.

I own about 20 paper back poker books and exactly 7 poker audio books. I have never been part of any kind of study group or ever really been active on any forum. Nor have I ever received individualized coaching.

I learned about TPE initially though the TPE podcasts and Andrew Brokos podcasts. I’ve also taken a lot from Matt Hunt’s articles. I learned about Twitch in January of this year and I put a face to KB after listening to him for quite some time via podcast.

I joined TPE with the following objectives in mind: (No time table in mind as I am an amateur player with highly variable volume from week to week)

  1. Shore up perceived weaknesses in my game prior to paying for individualized coaching(following topics to start)
    1. SB and BB Defense ranges
    2. 3 bet ranges from all positions
    3. C-betting
    4. All of these with hud use in mind
  2. Improve my database analysis and poker communication skills
    1. Forum use
    2. Group study
    3. Of course videos on study strategy

This far I’ve been through Assasinato’s study series and I’m working on the BB Defense series from Andrew Brokos. Any input on what to do next is of course appreciated. Thanks all for your time!

Welcome my man

Sounds like you have a good grasp on how to evolve as a player based on your goals.  As far as database analysis, i highly recommend anything that Ben Reason puts out.  He is the best when it comes to breaking down the HUD and would be a great coach if you intend to dissect the HUD.  GL to you
