Hello everyone. My screen name on stars is Krul hul and i am an old school donk looking to change my ways. This is my first day on TPE and am very impressed. One of the first things i came cross was the article about  poker motive and couldn't agree more. Although I am here to improve my over all play i look at the patterns of my ways and being honest i've played to get high. I'm sure there are some of you that know what i mean. When times ares good you hit your score but proceed to donk it off by playing more at higher buy ins till you play for some insane 72 hour session till you go broke. When times are bad your depositing more than you care to remember. Don't get me wrong, in 5 years of playing its never affected my financial well being but to say that a person with a problem needs to have major issues before its a problem is in worse shape than me. In between all of this the bottom line is(Rickyism): Am i ready for change.Yes. Will it all happen over night, never does. So putting aside the gambling, bankroll management, and personal issues for now I am going to focus asking for feedback on tools. I have never used any and watched a demo on Holdem Manger and feel like a child. At critical points how my play could so vastly improve with this data makes me manic. First question; Is this the best tool for mtt on stars? I understand its only data but how easy is it learn how to access it for a guy's nickname at work has been captain hook ( one finger typing )? Is there a step by step videos on how to get started with this? I am lucky that i am cousins with a cardrunners instructor who i will keep anonymous.  I have talked very little poker with him as ego and respect have kept the topic brief, he is 23, i am 40. I held him in my arms for pete sake, also he's a cash player formost but trust his proven mtt skills as well. Since i can't afford coaching, after i learn how to access TPE effectively i will feel more comfortable asking for his feedback. Add to the mix a couple good friends who are wanting to take this jump with me and a love of the game. I look forward to TPE being site I choose to improve with.

First of all welcome to the TPE Nation Krul! Glad to have you on board. As far as your second question I would recommend looking into Hold'em Manager for a database/HUD/analysis package. I have tried a couple and this is by far the most comprehensive program I have used for both in game HUD and post game analysis. If you have detailed questions about how to extract information from a program like that or what you are interested in trying to see feel free to shoot a PM or post in the forums and you will get plenty of help. Otherwise don't forget to read through the forums and post hands where you weren't sure what to do as they are great learning tools and look us up in chat. It is pretty full most evenings (or at least evening on the US East Coast) and there are a ton of great players in there regularly so it is a great place to ask questions or just talk strategy (or shoot the breeze). Looking forward to seeing more from you.

Welcome!!!! As Les stated Hold'em manager is a great investment. You can get a free trial and be sure to check out this TPE video about HUDs when you do.
