Hey guys.

New to the board, thought I would pop in and say hi. Hi! from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada

Being playing for a little while, looking to really improve my game.  I have watched a ton of videos, so far, but I am still missing something in my game.

I tend to do well early in tournaments, I usually play fairly tight and aggressive, but I hit that mid stage, and things seem to fall apart.  I either bleed out chips, getting into pots I shouldn't, or I go bust playing a premium hand to be sometime beat as bad as 8/3 off. Because of this, I tend to do better in regular speed tournaments.  One of my best results, was a $2.20 slow tournment, I held in there for……ready? 12 hours.  Was down to the final 4, gf was super angry at me, so I made some crazy moves and finished 4th of just under $100.  I was quite impressed I lasted as long as I did.  That was a lot of fun. Earlier in the year I one an $11 on Full Tilt for $400+, but mostly play over on Poker Stars now.

What can I do to improve my mid and late stage play?  Would love it if someone could point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Jamie

Welcome jam, sounds like you have trouble changing gears, there’s a ton of videos to review Which hopefully help if not post some difficult hands in the other threads.

Rest assured that this happens to everyone at one time or another but the good news is you have recognised where your game is lacking / needs improvement.

Watching any of the Bigdog videos will demonstrate changing gears mid stages.
