TL;DR – Former FullTilt screen name Stylite5, used to be low/mid stakes winner at O8limit and Stud hi/low with some mild tournament success. Then Black Friday, off the pokers until a couple weeks back. Trying to win enough $ to fix my old house. Hi!

Long version:

Origin story – I had never played poker much before 2005.  I got demolished at a low stakes friendly home game and decided that would never happen again. After reading some awful Cardoza book, I got crushed again.  Then I found 2+2 and much better reading material.  I deposited $25 on Pacific soon after and played there until they shut down to US players. The rest of my pre Black Friday online poker career was spent on FullTilt.

FullTilt was a bit tougher than Pacific back in the day, so instead of facing off against Holdem grinders, I learned Crazy Pineapple, O8 and Stud hi/low as my main cash games.  I also had some success in tournaments with my best scores in 2010.  At some point, I think 2008 or 2009, I had an article on Crazy Pineapple flop decisions published in the 2+2 Magazine.

Except for a couple months in 2010 when I was in between jobs, poker was always part time work.  I decided to hang up the gloves after losing money to Black Friday and some subsequent poker site rip-offs.

Back to Poker – Due to alternative currencies, money looks a little easier to move around right now.  I’ve been playing on Bovada a little for a couple weeks and managed to final table three of the four O8 tournaments I’ve played.  Holdem is another story, though.  The bet sizing and play styles are way different than back in 2011! There is ALOT I need to catch up on, it seems.

Goals – As I already hold a full time job as well as a part time job and need to spend time with my family, I can only grind one or two nights a week.  My goal is to win enough to fix up my 200 year old house that needs a ton of repairs.  To get there, I need to catch up on all the advancements in poker and run good in the process. That’s why I am here.
