hello,
I thought it best to introduce myself if I am going to get some benefit from posting on the forums etc and it’s also polive I guess so here we go!
I am 30 from Wiltshire UK and played poker for about 12 months or so. With no success.
I work full time as a delivery driver and play 2nl and $2.20 maximum tournaments and have only ever placed… 13th/couple 1000…. which was my best score.
My pocket fives shows $103 dollars in winnings and I am a bad roi player at the moment so there is 100% something missing from my game which I need to sort out, and that is what brought me here to TPE.
I enquired with Bestpokercoaching but to be honest I liked the look of tpe a whole lot more and I hope I can make something of this.
On terms of my game, where do I start, I have the basics down like keeping an approx 21vpip/18pfr, playing in relatively good position and using correct ranges but I do feel I am missing something which would really improve my game.
Reading other peoples ranges for me can vary in success and it is also things like my post flop and bet sizing that I feel I need to work on and in general asking my self the questions like….
why am I betting here?
Should I be folding/raising/checking?
When should I Changing gears later in tournaments
Bullying smaller stacks?
Avoiding bigger stacks?
Shove/Fold etc
The list goes on.
Anyway, if somebody would be kind enough to tell me what kinds of things would be good for me to post in forum in order to fix these things then please let me know.
Cheers, I see much motivation around me here, I am happy to just soak up your advice oh wise poker gods! 🙂

Hey Sam I’m also in transport. I’m a trucker in London and further afield sometimes.
Not sure about necessarily having to post in any kind of order. Just put up a hand you found difficult or interesting in the forums and folk will get back to you with their thoughts. It is a pretty friendly and non judgemental community, I for one have posted some (with hindsight) very basic hands, the solution to which I could have worked out myself with some effort.
Watch Foucault82’s Getting Off On The Right Foot.
The list of things you want to work on encompasses a lot of the game. Start with that series then take it from there.
agreed on the Foucault series.
It sounds like you are using a HUD, so make it a point to mark hands for review in your hud and then post here. It takes a while to get in to the habit, but once you do you will have tons of them to review. Try not to focus just on hands where you lose (for example) but make sure and find hands where you wonder if maybe you could have extracted more value somehow.
Welcome!
