Hi all – I'm from Southern California, and two of my passions are poker and tea.  I've been a long-time listener to the TPE podcast, which was the first poker podcast I found.  For the last year, I have also been a devoted fan of the Thinking Poker Podcast.  Thinking Poker has really helped me to see some of the leaks in my game.  Fixing them is a huge challenge…but I love a good challenge.

Tea is another passion, so don't hold back if you'd like to exchange tasting notes, or share your favorite pu-erh.

Looking forward to learning with you all.

Welcome to the group!  I followed a similar path here (TPE Podcast -> Thinking Poker Podcast -> TPE membership) and am from Southern California too, but I probably drink a lot less tea than you.   May I ask where you buy?  Back when I lived on the east coast there was a really great tea shop walking distance from my house in Somerville but it's since closed.  I imagine you must order online…any good recommendations?

Tea Habitat is always my first choice.  The specialties there are (Dan Cong) Oolong and Pu-Erh.  Aged teas are remarkably soothing, almost medicinal.  I also enjoy Bana Tea, the Art of Tea, and Mountain Rose Herbs for tissanes (not those kinds of herbs….).

If you are near Pasadena or Culver City, Bird Pick has a decent selection.  I really enjoy the offerings at Mad Monk Tea in Ocean Beach, San Diego, too.

If you enjoy any others, please do tell.
