Hi,
I'm new to the site. Watched some videos and listened to podcasts . I really want to improve my tourney play and hope this site will help me. I belong to a couple of other sites, but like the fact that this one deals with tourneys only. I've also taken WPT boot camps and trained with Ari Engel and David Chicotsky.
I would like to become half the player everyone thinks I am LOL. My son is David Williams and everybody thinks he teaches me. Far from it, we live in two different cites and when I visit him we don't talk poker. I asked him to teach me shortyly after his runner up in the main event and he told me he felt he could not teach me because he had a lot to learn. I never asked again. I think he just doesn't want to teach me because I don't catch on too quick LOL.

LOL, I'm sure I will learn more from you than you from me. I REALLY don't get teachings from my son. If I am playing a low limit tourney $2-$5 mtt and have a question I will ask his advice. We are very close and I don't know if he feels him teaching me will ruin our relationship or what. I think I will just ask him when I go to Vegas next month.
There's an old saying that most poker players are not as good as they think they are. I have become to realize that I have the exact opposite problem. I think I am probably better than I think. At least that's what my friends tell me. I am hoping that I can also find a way to have more confidence. I was telling one of my friends that I don't play the Sunday majors on line becaue I feel intimidate by the players. She said, “You have played in the WSOP main event several times and cashed once! How can you feel that way?” Maybe I need to get a mindset coach like David . I'm hoping that playing with players that are like me an just trying to get better will help my confidnece a lot.
David did an intervies with “the Scoop” and he said that everybody assumes he teaches me poker, but when we are together we don't talk much poker. If I lived in Vegas maybe it would be different. But, since I live in Texas and him in Vegas we try to spend more quality time together when I visit.
I am looking forward to playing in the next cycle of the TPE member tourneys. I am really enjoying the videos.

Glad to have you in the community! I wish I had the patience to teach my mom, she is intersted to learn, but I have a hard enough time answering iPhone questions-bought her one for Christmas, swear to God that will be the death of me. LOL Hope to see you around the forum we have an awesome and friendly community.

LOL Praetor,
you are probably one of the few that totally understands why David does not teach me poker. I don't blame him. When I got my iphone he tried to dissuade me because he did not want to be my “iphone support person”. He bought me my first MacBook and paid $99 for me to have one to one training so he would not have to teach me .

I was going to do that with my mom when I bought the iPhone, but she used the “you don't love me enough to teach me”. I told her I was afraid I would not love her anymore if I did. LOL My mom is a teacher and I do not know how she does it, answering the same question multiple times.

Hi BuddhaX,
Glad to see you here also. I like this site SO much better. The “other site” just does not have much paticipation . Also the moderaters here are so much more involved. If you tell anyone I said this at the “other site” I might just have to buy some bricks and a boat LMAO!
