Hi guys, my name is Angelo aka punchinstuf and i am a part time tournament player looking to improve my overall results.

i am interested in joining permanently and the university courses and mentor videos look exciting.

However, now that online poker has been banned in Australia, in your opinions, do you think that i will still be able to obtain the appropriate level of advancement without the ability to play online and use that information to assist me with hand history research etc?

thanks for your time and any help is appreciated

Angelo

Damn! What is their f****** problem, really?

What reason did they give in Aus? Truthfully Angelo, I think no access to online play will really be a brake on your advancement in the game vs. ROW; but in Aus, if everyone is in the same boat, and you study your game to play live whilst others don’t, ofc you will be at a great advantage.

Sorry about the ban man, I heard it was imminent.

I have traveled through the Middle East, Asia, Europe, South America, and North America. Even in Islamic countries there was gambling. Learning about poker in all its forms is job security.

But yes, this is a huge blow, and I’m sorry. But hey. There will be some offshore site starting up any day. People like money, and the internet is big.

Welcome by the way!

Thanks guys.

Yeah, it sucks! Im sure its just the government and local casinos banding together to control the flow of betting money in the country.

im sure i will get a wealth of resources and information that can only improve my game as well as meeti new people around the globe.

take care and good luck!

Yes, same old story…bricks and mortar old school gambling kingpins who still hold sway in the top tiers of government, like in the US, just gutted they never saw the Internet train coming, and who are desperately trying to retain business.

This works right now because an older generation is in power, with all the old ties, and the money still talks.

But when the vastly greater scope for making money from online gambling comes in to focus, and these old crones fade away…things will change again.

Just hope it’s sooner rather than later.

It’s all about the money. It has nothing to do with morality, except perhaps for the ultra right wing religious 0.125%. But it is such a convenient excuse.
