Hi everyone my name is Brendon and I’m new to the TPE Uni.. really want to start taking my poker game a lot more seriously instead of just punting away chips/money.. and really want to know what steps I should take first with studying my hands and keeping a record of everything???

Hey Brendon…welcome.

I am going to go out on a limb here and say from your name I guess you are American?

If so maybe you don’t play online. But if you do, and if you haven’t already, get yourself a copy of PokerTracker or HEM2.

Welcome Brendon! As Riceman said a HUD is a must! PT4 IMO. If you play mostly live, take a log of important hands including stack sizes and position and action, put it in your phone or write it down, then post it in the MTT strat page after you review it yourself!

As for TPE, my best suggestion would be to find an instructor or two you really enjoy and stick to them for a while. Mixing a bunch of different styles can be overwhelming. Take baby steps. Take one or two concepts, implement them in your game and put in some volume then progress.

GL!

Hey thanks for the advice guys. I’m Australian and play on Pokerstars. I recently got PT4 and Flopzilla and watching a lot of TPE training videos but I’m always open to more suggestions and feedback.. Thanks in advance smile
