Finally on! Picked a bad day to sign up evidently, some server problems.
Anyway, total amateur. Been playing a few years now – usually 30 – 50 dollar tourneys live, lucky enough to live in Oregon where we have many poker clubs that run tourneys every 2 hours from noon til late night and there are plenty of games in the local bars as well usually for 20 dollar buy ins. Slightly profitable so far but we are talking about being able to cover my bar tab on average. Think $722 is my biggest cash/claim to fame so far.
Have been playing on Bovada for a couple months now, usually 5 or 10 dollar turbos / double and triple ups etc. Down a little at this point unfortunately but not much.
Wondering about playing on line in the states. Is the reason that most of the pros moved out of the country to play that the goverment might shut these guys down too and I lose whats in my account? Obvioulsy a lot of people still play on line in the states. What is the risk?
Don't see myself on espn anytime soon but would really like to work on my game until I get confident enough to move to Costa Rica and play full time. Unlike the black friday dudes that moved there to continue to play, I just love that place. Vacationed there the last couple years and could easily see myself spending 5-6 months a year there if I could eke out a living.
Well just signed up for a month so far, will see how I like it and go from there.
Love the podcasts, they are pretty much what got me here in the first place and am starting on the videos. Hand reading is probably going to be my first focus.
