The other day i was watching Aussie Millions stream and Fedor Holz was a guest on the stream. He spoke about misconception of players net earnings reported on Hendon Mob and other poker sites . The results are more than likely accurate but the site does not account for the $$$ amt of buy in tournaments they lost , travel expenses  and the % totals of their backers.  If those  concepts were reported on a frequent basis , the falsehood of a player shipping for $600k on his own dime would most certainly be clarified and at the same time disputing the notion that most of these poker pros are always living the life of riley which  is not the case at all. If players took the time out to report their net losses which of course will probably never happen, it would contribute to the reality of the game instead of leading people (especially the novice of the sport) on to a fantasy world that does not exist

yeah, its very difficult to determine just how much anyone is making in live poker.  The “life rake” is expensive!

It’s funny because (at least in the US) tax returns would paint a different story. When I get stuck with a W-2G (not sure what you get in poker because I’ve never earned one in live) from video poker, I’m collecting win-loss statements from my players card, receipts from poker tournament buy-ins, losing sports bet tickets and PowerBall tickets, etc., anything so I can deduct the winnings from the W-2G.

A conspiracist would say Hendonmob is an IRS front.
