I’ve been disconnected from poker for several years, and I’ve recently started playing again. I’ve never taken the game seriously and always tilted off any money that I might have won. I want to change that this time by putting the effort in that’s necessary to become a winning player. I cashed today in my first tournament since I started playing again. I placed 2nd in a small $5 BI for a score of $87. I’m loving the site and look forward to participating and learning from you guys!
Thanks!
John

Hey John, hopefully not raining on your parade, but that’s obviously a very small sample there…nevertheless, just a word of advice I wish I’d heeded myself when starting out in tournament poker…always play within your bankroll. When I started out I was playing $100 buy ins with a $400 roll. Unless you get real lucky, that’s going to be a sure route to Losersville.
Not sure my poker skills dramatically changed overnight, but my graph suggests otherwise. There is literally a V shape in it where I go from obvious loser to obvious winner, and the only change I made was committing to play within my bankroll limits. Now the money is rolling in…
