Hi. Kathy from California's bay area. Started playing 4 years ago when I decided to attend dealer school, thinking it would be a good partime job. I'd never been in a cardroom (didn't even know the ranking of hands) but quickly came to love the game and have been trying to learn ever since. I learned a bit in school, attended some WSOP Academies in Vegas, and had some coaching from a Vegas cash game grinder who taught an old fashioned uber tight game. I had a couple of sessions with a Cardrunners coach who opened my eyes a bit and  added some aggression to my game that seemed to help me finally start winning. Pre BF I had thought I was getting it, had several wins close together. Best online cash 1/1124 for $5100 and best live finish 2nd for $1700. A number of deep runs and consistently cashing live. I was so happy to finally get to headsup as it seemed everyone usually wanted to chop but sadly HU only lasted 2 hands 🙁 lol. I think I am aware of many of the weaknesses in my game but need help with the “how” to change them. While I used to have a coach to run hands by lately I have just been struggling on my own. Struggling w adjusting to playing on Merge too, no luck so far. I dabble a bit in live cash games (usually break even to slight win) but feel I am most suited to tournaments. I play sit and gos and MTTs. I got chewed up and spit out in cash games online so don't even go there, but usally live I can at least earn my tournament entries at the cash tables. I am a bit lazy on the computer/technical side so need to better learn to use a HUD, post hand histories, etc. In the bit of reading I've done already on the site I can see I will find the help I need here (it's awesome so far). Very excited to be here and hope that you all won't mind if I can manage to climb out of the ranks of the fish (I've contributed plenty to you all hope you have enjoyed my $) and improve my game. I am interested in playing both live and online and would love to play open events next WSOP. Played the ladies event twice and that was at least one too many times I want to beat you all 🙂 Looking forward to getting to know you and being part of the TPE community. Thx all!

Hey thanks guys for the welcome and encouragement. I am going to make it my goal to utilize what is here fully. Cannot believe the difference in playing this morning. Much better mindset. Better game choice. More understanding of bankroll (bigtime OOPS). I just WON a 45 man sit and go which I never would have played if not for it being recommended here. I didn't check the lobby (!) and we were at the final table before I knew it. Got to practice heads-up twice today woohoo. I put a sign by my computer that says “it's not the nuts until the river” (lol ty). Proud to say that my mini roll is now 30 percent bigger and that I cashed in 4 of 6 sit and gos. My PTE just basically paid for half itself already. I'm stoked. Great site and great community!
