Hi, I'm Paul. I'v been playing online and live for 3 years now, I'v put in to poker about 300 euros into 3 different sites Titan Poker at first where i put in 40 euro and cashed out about 600 euros and an Ipod touch in a 600 player freeroll. I played in Pokerstars and put in about 200 euro and never cashed out anything and have been a consistant loser in the site, I dont know if it was a higher class of play there or just due to lots of bad beats, so basically I gave up with Poker Stars and started to play in Paradise Poker, where I have won 1500 euro from the 50 euro I invested. I do play cash but my main game is Mtt and Sng. In live play I normally play from 20+5 to 200+20 Tornaments and have cashed out about the same as I have put in, but have only played about 5 tornaments in total as they are normally quite expensive for me.

I am a keen Poker reader and have read the HoH series 1,2 and 3, Doyle Brunson Super system, Caros Book on Tells, Gus Hanson Every Hand Revealed, Texas Hold'em Poker by Paul Mendelson., I would greatly appreciate any advice on good books on live or online play that are based on Tornament or SnG strategy.

For the 1st time ever I have left some money in my poker account as i won 1100 euros last week at Paradise and left my self 500 euros to play with to hopefully build into a nice bankroll. I also entered myself into a 200+20 live tornament which I am playing at the end of this month. My play seemed to go alot better after reading Gus Hansons book and learnted stack control and how to use more aggresion in my game. Now all I am hoping is to make the leap from small to mid stakes without damaging my bankroll too much so if anyone could advise any videos that helped them make the leap from small to mid it would be much appreciated.

Thanks very much, and hopefully we'll be chatting in the future cool

G'Day Paul,

'Kill Everyone' is a worthwhile read/reference.

“Winning Poker Tournaments One hand At a Time” Volume 1 and 2 by Eric “Rizen” Lynch, Jon “Apestyles” Van Fleet and Jon “Pearljammer” Turner are great books which contain explanatory HH's from start to finish by three succesfull high stakes tournament players. Reading these books will def help you with your thought process which you will have to adjust according to the stakes you play at.

Welcome. After absorbing useful info from every book you read, there comes a time when the style u play mtts is going to be comfortably your own.

In the past, I think I was guilty of playing like the author of the current book I was reading and I bounced around all over the place.

Just be careful of that.

mate i’m not sure what everyone else thinks but ‘read ’em and reap’ by hellmuth and joe navarro is good for live play. It takes quite a lot of work in terms of practicing the skills he teaches over a few weeks but is very good theory

for weak live games though, caro’s book of tells is excellent i found

welcome to the site and good luck at the tables
