Hey everybody. My name is Steve and I am from the Bay Area. I said much of this in my Bio but I think it is worth repeating. I was a casual player who played occasionally on line for fun until black Friday. Basically I was a standard ABC player who played for fun but never put much thought in my game. Last summer, on a friends invite, I traveled to vegas and played in a a few tournies at the WSOP and completely fell in love with MTT's. I actually played in one tournament with our own “Bigdogpckt5s” to my immediate left. How is that for intro to the WSOP. At the time I didn't know it was him, but so much of the tournament is ingrained in my head that I have no doubt that the player who was to my left, who was running over the table, was the man himself!
Since i returned from the WSOP i have basically been obsessed with returning this summer to the WSOP. However, I want my game to be on point! I have read every book i have been able to get my hands on, “Kill Everyone”, being my favorite. I play in MTT's a couple times per week in the card rooms of the bay area. But because of the structure, I realize this can only take my game so far. 3 betting and 4 betting is only relevant for about the first level, then everyone has a shoving stack! not quite true, but pretty close. When i came across TPE i knew that I had to take advantage of its resources. So here I am!
I have traveled to some WSOPC events to take advantage of the better structures. But I wish that online would return in the stats, because I need to get hands on experience. I hear about Lock tacking US action and I have thought about depositing an amount simply to practice the higher level poker I know I will need when I return to vegas this summer. I have read about all the withdrawal problems people have with Lock, but frankly, I don't care, I want practice!! i need practice! anyway I digress. .
Really looking forward to jumping head first into the videos and being active on the boards. Seems like a great resource! So basically I am obsessed. The WSOP was a great experience, but I also realized the game had moved way past my level of thought. now poker is what I think about pretty much all day! I am here to learn!
