Hey there TPE, my names dave 'tiltyshoes' Hakin i'm from the UK. I'd love to be able to share my extensive and successful poker credentials with you but im basically new to the game, a recreational player and very much a fish!

Since the turn of the new year i've started to dabble in online poker playing micro stakes cash games ( NLHE, PLO, PLO8, Razz, 7CS ) in the future i definitely want to develop my skills at the mixed games cash tables.

I thought cash games were fun but somehow i found myself registered for a $1 tournie and WOW these things add a whole new dimension to the game and a level of excitement i just don't get at the cash tables.
I'm a very competitive, stubborn person and although taking part is great, losings just never going to be as much fun as winning, hence my arrival here at TPE.

Just to put things into perspective my “greatest” run in a tournie so far is 28 out of 1200 in a daily dollar. I don't get to play as much as i'd like especially through the week as i work a full time job on the night shift, have a girlfriend and a step daughter who obviously take up alot of my time / attention but atleast i get a couple of hours a day i can devote to studying the game then come the weekend im in the mood to play!

Outside of poker my interests are pretty much sports and being from the UK, beer obviously! So much so infact my spare room has been pretty much turned into a home brewery, full of mash tuns, fermenters, demi-johns and corni kegs! It's amazing how often your friends call round once they realize you make your own beer, go figure?

Anyways i'll not bore you all any longer but expect to see me around the chat / forums soon asking seemingly dumb questions in straight forward spots and generally making a fool of myself as i show you all the hands i butcher. All criticism welcome, bring on the friendly banter i've got broad shoulders and i give as good as i get!
