I downloaded your podcasts from iTunes and listened to a couple of them. I heard about your league – that is, that PottyTrainMe was in second place – and that intrigued me as I played in a 2P2 league with PottyTrainMe which finished up a month or so ago. I felt that the competition level in that league was more advanced than the regular MTT's on PS and I'm looking for more of that competition level.
That being said, I also noticed that this Saturday's league play is on UB/AP. HELLO!!!!! Maybe you haven't heard about that site and it's 'problems?' [facetious]. I personally don't care if the majority of your members are from that site, or not, or whatever. This site, and no other site, should support that site at all. Speaking only for myself here, but I won't support any site which supports that site in any way. If I'm going to pay $24 a month to a site such as this I want to believe that my money is not being wasted. That the manager(s) of the site are competent and trustworthy. The first frigging thing I see on this site is a site sanctioned event at UB/AP – not a competent managerial decision to say the least – my opinion anyway.
OK, I've said it. I probably look like and a***ole to a lot of you. I'm not. I just have a strong opinion about UB/AP and what they did, and how they made promises to provide information – which they never did. They continue to cover up what they did. New management recently at UB – transfers from AP whom were involved in their own disgraceful event(s) in the past. At the least, they are incredulous! It's disgraceful and a black mark on online-poker's 'face.' And this site is 'supporting' them! Geesh, are the inmates running the asylum here? Where have you guys [managerial] been hiding the last couple of years?
Hey man. Welcome. We do not critisize anyone who chooses to not play on UB or AP. That is certainly your right and I would never question how you go about making your living. Our job is to serve our customers…all of them. And we do have customers that play on UB/AP.
For what it's worth, I tried boycotting Starbucks because i knew that a portion of everything I spent there was going to the State of Washington who has probably done more to hurt online poker in the last year than any entity. I didnt want my money going to them. Unfortunately I love vanilla beans, and I realized that Jones Soda, Redhook, Amazon, Groundspeak, Tooth and Nail Records and a million others were also based there and it was simpy impossible for me to give all those up.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the site, but understand completely if you choose to move on. I would honestly offer a suggestion for training site that has no pros playing on UB/AP, but unfortunately every single one of them does.
Thanks for the feedback and good luck at the tables!
Please don't misunderstand me, I personally don't care where people (amateurs or pros) play. It they want to play on UB/AP that's fine with me and I don't have a problem with it. If you have pros on your staff that are affiliated with UB/AP I don't have a problem with that either. I myself have an account on AP with about $30 left in it – although I hardly ever play there anymore.
After a little more 'digging' on your site I have discovered that this site has a rake-back deal with UB/AP. I have probably put you in an awkward position – and I apologize for that. I wish I could take it all back.
Enough said, I'm done.
Thanks for the welcome.
Man, I wish I had seen, or at least paid attention to, that rake-back thing first. Sorry.
