Salutations, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Ian Davis, and I hail from the great state of Tennessee. I’ve been lurking around the TPE community for a couple of months now (listening to the podcast, watching some KB on twitch, and following a few guys on twitter), but finally decided to join. Just by listening to the podcast, my game has improved tremendously, and I can’t wait to dive into the videos.

My poker story is pretty standard. I started watching the WSOP coverage after Moneymaker won. My dad got really big into poker and taught me the basics. I was always a fan, but never really took it seriously until I moved to a parts of the world that had casinos. I quickly discovered that my skills were lacking, although I still managed to break even, which is more indicative of how terrible the average casino poker player is than how good I was. My job eventually lead me to East Tennessee, which was the furthest I had lived from a casino in years. I joined Carbon Poker and quickly lost my bankroll…thrice. I thought, “If I’m as good at poker as I think I am, I shouldn’t be losing as much as I am.”

That lead me to two plus two, which lead me to twitch, which lead me to spending as much time as possible watching twitch, which lead me to TPE. I’m still nowhere near where I need to be, but I’ve managed to run $50 up to $600 on Bovada in the last four months or so, which I’m very proud of. Now, it’s time to kick the learning into high gear, and I’m very excited to be a member of this community of like minded grinders.

Feel free to follow me on Twitter at @BattlePokerMan as well for my poker updates.

Thanks, KB. Good luck at Cherokee! The couple of Circuit events I went to there were very very soft.
