Dear members of TPE,

I'm here to introduce myself to you as a new member of TPE.

My name is Jordy and I am 21 years old from The Netherlands. I am familair with the basics of poker for a few years on now, but I never did something seriously with it. During the last holidays in december I got asked back in poker again by a friend and found an awesome stream on Twitch from PokerStaples. So I decided to take things serious this time and deposited 50 euro on Pokerstars and started to grind some 1-table 0,50 SNGs.

After a few days I discovered I was becoming better quickly (winning some SNGs, improved play, more tight etc.) so I wanted more. On PokerStaples's stream this website was mentioned and I decided to subscribe here to study on MTTs and my goal for 2015 is to become a profitable player at least.

Since I am a student in a Bachelor course on IT and working part-time in an enterprise organization I will not play full-time or want to become a pro soon. Poker is a new challenge to me which I use as a tool to work on my decision- and math skills (which you are using all day even when not playing cards).

So what are the plans for Q1?

– Grind 180-man SNGs and micro MTTs for a few evenings per week;

– Analyse the important hands of every session the next day in HM2;

– Go through TPE University (already started!);

– Have my friend watch me play;

– (Hopefully) Build a little bankroll.

I grinded like 10 180-man SNGs yesterday in 3 hours, got bad beat at 2 of them with around 50 left and made it to the FT once (finished 9th). I reviewed my hands today and like 90% of my breaking-point decisions were right in terms of odds and equity. smile

I'm happy with that but there is enough to work on. So I will be here spending studying my ass of for the next months beside my real life!

All the best,

Jordy
