Hi TPE’rs,

Just signed up again to get my game in shape for WSOP this summer. I am a committed rec player with a full time job and a family, but I love playing, reading, and learning about poker. I also like being good at things that I do for fun so I’m all about trying to improve my game by putting in some serious work at it. For me it’s about getting better at understanding the game, thinking through my play, and relishing the satisfaction of becoming a winning player in the weekly home game that I play in.

Since I only get to play in one WSOP event per year, I need to make sure I’m prepared. I joined TPE last year to learn and work on my game for the WSOP Monster Stack. I made it to Day 2, which was a first for me in the 3 WSOP events I’ve played, and I credit TPE for helping me to achieve this goal. So this year I’m back for more, and I hope to cash a WSOP event for the first time (yeah I know about variance, but hey we all need to have goals right?). To get ready I’m planning on revisiting some of the theory videos from Andrew Brokos that helped me a ton last year, and also perusing some of the newer stuff like KB and Marc Alioto’s videos that were just posted.

I’m also planning on heading up to Cherokee, NC for the circuit event next week as a warm up for the WSOP, so maybe I’ll run into some fellow TPE’rs there.
