Occasionally, I play at my local bar which has one or two tables going. The players are a mix of 50% regs.,and the rest are tourists and drunks. The blinds are $1 and $1 with $5 rake on the button. Play usually ends up with huge pots and 3-4 peeps all in- flipping. If the flow is typical I will play sick tight. I cannot figure a better strategy as bluffs and bullying seem always to be -ev due to the stationy play. With the rake obv. the game is neg ev,but I cant give up so easily. The suckouts are appaling as is the play and I must find better lines.       Question: What are the recommended lines you guys would take?

The best line is simple…find a new barSurprised  Sounds like the house is the only really winner.

Have you tried online cash games at all? The rake and the game do not sound that good. I would try and find a more reasonable game or try some online play. At least online you can use Hold ’em manager.

Im assuming you dont have casinos near you and therefore this is your option for “playing live”.  If that is the case I think an argument can be made for giving up some $ev for the experience you gain from playing live.  Im not saying you should be blowing tons of cash in this game, but it you are a msall winner or even breaking even, there is something to be said for the experience as well as just the enjoyment of getting out of the house and playing live once in a while.

I play in an occasional underground game here that I am probably -ev in because Im not a cash game expert.  But I work at home and primarily play online poker, so to me its worth being a small dog to get the chance to get out of the house, socialize and play a little poker with real human beings.  I just bring what im willing to lose and enjoy the evening.
