$5-10 NL I buy in for 100BB and autotopup

I'm struggling with how to play against shortstackers with medium strength hands like 77 or AQ. If I open and they 3-bet I'm lost. If they open I'm not sure if I should flat or 3-bet.

Any advice appreciated

A really simple piece of advice I got and still use is… If you don't know what you would do if you got 4bet then DONT 3b… So AQ and 77 are hands that typically I would like to flat… But this changes in lots of situations… 6max vs full ring… IP vs OOP… Not sure if this helps, but I hope it does a bit.

If you have AQ and 3bet to 9bb… shorty stack shoves all in for 50bb… you need 41% to call and you only have that if he shoves some thing like —> 22+, AQo, KQs+, AJs+… (which he probably wont be shoving in most spots)

Basically I like to flat IP more vs opens with AQ + 99 etc, min bet open more instead of 3x opening. When out of position against players who 3bet a merged range you can flat AQ and against players who 3bet-fold hands like A4o etc, you can 4bet-fold AQ as they should fold enough pre and if they shove too wide, you'll make a fortune when you 4bet for value.

Also, these short stackers are generally terrible postflop so if you see a flop with them they should have a very predictable range with poor postflop skills.

Hope some of that ramble helped
