Hey Guys

On the weekend i was playing a Live 1/2 PLO game. i had been doing quite well , i had about 500 in front of me. there were about 5 people i knew on the table so it was really fun. i am not the most experienced omaha player but i am confident i am still a significant favourite in this game, except for one of my mates that was on the table with me.

UTG sits down at the table and this is his first hand, and he raises pot blind.

cutoff button didn't look like much of a player but he had won a couple of pots and was sitting on about 350.

then this hand comes along.

Hand: Ks Kh Jh Tx

UTG: raise to $7 blind

ME – UTG+1 : repot to $21

CO – call

UTG call

flop 9h Th 5x

UTG leads for 60 which is basically full pot

I elect to smooth. i think i have a massive hand and i wouldn't mind the overcall

then the WTF part

CO says pot so he basically shoves, and now the UTG player snap calls the last of his $200 and its back around to me.

now my head explodes and i am wondering what do to.

at first glance it looks like i have a monster but i cant help but think that CO has the nfd and possibly Aces or 2 pair as well. and if thats the case i am drawing to my Q basically.

this was the first time in a long time at the poker table where i was really clueless on what to do.

for the omaha players out there, what do you think?

Fold you have second NFD, gutshot straight and an over pair. HU, it's good. But your hand fairs far worse against two players. Up against a set and nfd…you are crushed.

this is what i originally thought, but then i realised that the UTG player was doing this after raising blind to begin with. so he could be pretty wide here.

so then i just sat there for about 5 minutes before someone called time on me and i eventually folded.

the two idiots both rolled QQ no draw and chopped it up after the turn gave me the flush although my KK were good anyway – i was pretty angry after that as you can imagine.

needless to say it was a nice plo table to be on. i lost another $500 pot later on when i got it in with top pair, overpair, flush draw and gutter against a guy that misread his hand – he thought he had flopped a boat but he was trying to play 3 cards out of his hand. needless to say his naked bottom set held up.

fun times.
