I recently went through my phone and pulled up a few cash game hand histories. They're from a Tuesday night session at 1/2nl in Sarasota Florida.

We're 7 handed. Old lady limps. She just 3b from $6 to $20 on the btn and showed down Kings preflop. She has around $300 in front of her. Middle aged gambler overlimps the cutoff with $100 in front.

He sat down and won/was involved in the last 5 hands. He seems to like to lead out with pairs and doesnt want to fold. I believe he ck/called in a bad spot on the river after betting turn and river completing a lot of stuff. I didn't see his hand, but it was my opinion he didn't need any bluff catchers because the villain he was up against probably doesn't bluff.

Hero raises to $10 on the button with KhJh

SB cold calls. mp folds. co calls.

I range sb as 67s, 78s, 89s, T9s, JTs, QJs, KQs, KTs, KJs, QTs, A2s-AJs, 22-TT, ATo

CO as like 40% idk. he limp/called K6o another hand I have noted, and he said allowed in another hand “I'd rather dominate you postflop than preflop”. He raied 85o utg and 65o utg later in the session so he's pretty much all over the place preflop.

flop ($30ish) QhJc4s

checks to me. in game I checked back, but now very unsure of that. My thoughts on checking are that the villains in the co have a ton of Qx, and fewer Jx as I have one, fewer 4x, and then overcard/gutshot. The sb I think is folding a lot as most of his combos whiff this flop. He and I have an spr of 6 and the co and I have an spr of 3.

I was wary of betting and getting worse than 50% vs the combined callings ranges. Given the low spr of the situation, I was probably timid/afraid of being blown off my hand by T9, T8, KT, K9, AT type hands by the co. I don't even know if he'd ck/jam them, as well as his Qx.

turn ($30ish) Qh Jc 4s 4h

It checks to me again. I check back with my 2nd pair and free flush draw. My plan was to bet if checked to me on a blank river and get called by a Jx, and decide vs a river bet.

river $30ish, Qh Jc 4s 4h 2c

Sb leads $20, co raises to $40. we all fold.

To me, it looks like the sb is betting with his pocket pairs, assuming he'll be called by AK or something, or bluffing with his missed draws. I don't think he'd play this line with his Qx or Jx, and he has like 6 combos of 4x tops. CO can have lots of 4xs but I think he would have bet the turn with most of them, but still can't think he won't have any. He probably leads flop or turn with two pair+. He mostly has 4x or straight draws I guess, unless he'd be willing to bluff more hands, but Idk if he would as I only had like 1 orbit played at that point.

Anyway, feel pretty silly/lost writing this down as I think online I'd just auto cbet and assume it's for value. Something about live poker makes me a little uncomfortable, like I have less info available to me.

Looks fine to me. Just a sidenote, though, that you don't need 50% equity against combined calling ranges to make betting correct. If you bet and get two calls, you are getting 2:1 on your money, so you need > 33%.

Thanks, Andrew.

Youre right about the equity necessary against both calling ranges. In my rushed post, I misspoke. What I actually meant is I’m concerned if the sb were to call me, I’d have less than 50% equity against his range for the bet. The same concern goes for the co, but not as much.
