Just won a tournament in the WSOP.com knockout series, a special series of 14 tournaments currenly running on WSOP.com in New Jersey. Why is it special? The winners of each knockout tourney plan in a freeroll, where one of the players will win a seat to the WSOP circuit national championship! Extremely excited for the opporunity, obviously since it is only 13 people I have to beat.

Thanks! It will be interesting as I can see with each night's event who my competition will be. None of the major NJ pros Michael Gagliano (Gags30) or Brett Jungblutt (Gank) yet, but Vetstadium (also known as chewbroccoli) did win a knockout, and he's already has 20K in tracked cashes in the short time since NJ play launched, (by comparison, I have 11K), including a victory in a Sunday major on WSOP. He is probably the one to beat thus far. Thomas Schenck, who finished 35th in the recent 1 million guarantee side event at the WPT Champrionships, is also in the field.

There are still 9 slots to be filled; I will be playing the other knockouts so it will be interesting to see what happens if I somehow manage to ship another one (would I then have only 12 opponents for the freeroll? Or would the second place finisher to me be awarded a ticket?). The entry is worth 10K with only 14  players vying for it, so I will would imagine that the competiion for the remaining seats will heat up as we get closer to the final knockout event.

Well, today was the big day, and, though I acquitted mysellf well, I finished 5th, 4 spots short of the place needed for the WSOPC Championship 10K seat. But it was a blast!
