So I am in the $35KGTD I am playing well my bet sizing is as good as I remember it, picking up dead money whenever I can and maximizinf my good hands. I take a deep breath with 21 people left “DON”T SPEW DUMBASS OR ALL THIS WORK IS FOR NOTHING”.

I pick up KINGS in the BB the CUTOFF raises 3x and I min 3-bet to have UTG shove. We get it in and I am up against AK – flop trips!!!

YATZHEE!!! Then the board proceeds run out and we both play the boad ACE high straight! I say to myself its ookay lkeep your head.

I then proceed to have another one of my out of body experiences where the SB shoves when its folded to him/her for the 3rd time.

“No way he has anything!” but I am holding K2S…. K2S!! I call off all my chips with K2S!! Boom thanks for playing gluck and congrats on the

BS 16th place for $150!

Now if that's not bad enough! I check for the winner on OPP this morning and the guiy who busted me? He has played a total of 10 mother f'ing tournaments!

That's right 10 f'ing tournaments all-time!!!!

I AM A TOOL!

Dependiing on how many BB's he shoved into you, K2s isn't that bad of a call …

Thanks FK

I had a bit less than 15BB's and he had a bit more than 18BB's. Still a good call?

I think he's shoving wide there. I am still learning push/fold but I bet if you plug in his wide range it's +EV to call.

I'd fold. Risk of going busto is too great.

Let's try to range him and see our EV. I did a few different calcs giving him different ranges.

Let's say we give him a super wide range:

equity win tie pots won pots tied

Hand 0: 56.472% 52.92% 03.55% 2106085376 141149764.00 { 22+, A2s+, K2s+, Q4s+, J6s+, T7s+, 97s+, 87s, A2o+, K2o+, Q7o+, J8o+, T8o+ }

Hand 1: 43.528% 39.98% 03.55% 1591009592 141149764.00 { K2s }

EV as % of Stack: -7.41%

EV as # of BBs: -1.11

Risk of Busto: 57.00%

Let's say we give him a tighter range:

equity win tie pots won pots tied

Hand 0: 62.605% 61.89% 00.71% 1441273792 16636848.00 { 22+, A2s+, KTs+, QTs+, JTs, A2o+, KTo+, QTo+, JTo }

Hand 1: 37.395% 36.68% 00.71% 854185952 16636848.00 { K2s }

EV as % of Stack: -19.68%

EV as # of BBs: -2.95

Risk of Busto: 62.70%

Lets give him ATC

equity win tie pots won pots tied

Hand 0: 62.605% 61.89% 00.71% 1441273792 16636848.00 { 22+, A2s+, KTs+, QTs+, JTs, A2o+, KTo+, QTo+, JTo }

Hand 1: 37.395% 36.68% 00.71% 854185952 16636848.00 { K2s }

EV as % of Stack: 14.13%

EV as # of BBs: 2.12

Risk of Busto: 47.00%

 As you can see he really has to be shoving extremely wide for this to be +EV and I think your margin of error and value of your stack are too high to take this as your assumption.

Live and learn. These mistakes are how we get better. You will be better prepared for the next one.

This is a snap at 10bbs against any reg, but here I think it is a fold.
