You hear alot about how poker players are getting better due to all the information and training sites available. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't see it. I think the play is getting worse, especially online. Below is a hand example of the types of play you see all the time. This is not micro stakes. It's on stars $30 Midstake tourney.

Poker Stars $30+$3 No Limit Hold'em Tournament – t25/t50 Blinds – 9 players
TournamentPokerEdge.com Hand History Converter

Cascote (MP1): t3000 60 BBs

Showdown

snowmover: shows [8heart Tspade] (a pair of Tens)
Donskey: shows [Kheart Kspade] (three of a kind, Kings)
Donskey collected 4910 from side pot
chicka888: shows [Qclub Tdiamond] (a pair of Tens)
Donskey collected 11615 from main pot

This is not a complaint, happy the play is so bad, it's how we make money in poker. Sure they get there sometimes and you sizzle. I pretty much solely play on stars. What are the other sites like? same crazy play?

Hey Haptimes

This is probably at the top of the bad play I encounter, but seriously this sort of stuff is going on all the time. Obviously I'm not the beneficiary of such play all the time, but the stuff I've been seeing lately is head scratching stuff. It seems to be escalating, not diminishing. My wife plays on micros and has just moved up to low stakes and the same sort of stuff is happening.

Again, not complaining, very very very happy these players are playing poker. There is one particular player in my bread and butter tourney, the $30 deepstack. This player also plays it most days, and on most days does not even make it to the 2nd level. 1st level is 10/20 5K stack 30min levels. He basically comes into the tourney to donates $30 every day. His been around for at least 6 months and seems to be getting worse not better. It's great.

jokes,

good on you for 1stly identifying these guys (doesnt seem that hard) and targeting them, and also being happy about them being in your field and in your way… alot of people would be posting this as a bad beat and berating and moaning about the poor quality of player

good on you and keep up the good work mate.

It's true, some people don't like these sorts of players, I can undersand why, very difficult to put them on a range, in fact it's basically impossible.  And believe me, they suck out on ya plenty of times on the river, and it is laptop out the window sort of stuff, but in the long run, they give you their chips.

I just try and play in position  with them as much as possible and unless I pretty much smash the board, I give up and wait for a better spot.  As you can see on the above hand, anyone with half a brain knows what I'm holding, but they don't seem to care, they still pay you off. You eventually get their chips barring any suckouts.

And just to show that these maniacs do make you knock your head against a hard wall when they suck out on ya.

I've been playing really tight because I got down to 20 BBs or so and just looking for a good spot to shove. Finally got my spot and doubled with AK. A couple of orbits later the following hand occured, probably the 2nd time I've opened for quite a while, so should set off alarm bells right????  Wrong!!!!! Not against these maniac donkies. It's fantastic, it happens every day.

By the way, he snap calls me. confused   (I shoved, I knew he would call if he got any part of the board, or a draw like a gutshot, overcard, basically they'll just call anything) Oh yea, no problem they call. Makes getting the chips in the middle easy, no stratagy, no thoughts, just shove (no matter what your size of stack) and they call.

No haptimes, I never lambaste them. If I have more chips than them and I'm still in the tourney, I will encourage them, say something, like

“nice catch” or occasionally ask them “are you a pro? that was a gutsy play”

If someone else says something nasty, I will always say don't listem to em, you're playing great.

I don't know about you, i don't want people calling me when they are way ahead, I want them calling me when they are way behind. Unfortunately they sometimes get there. Sucks

this is more a result of black friday imo the u.s. players being very skilled as they are brought great balance to the game the term eurodonk was what north americans would call any spewy player that resided outside of this area, now all the compitition is from these areas and all seem to play extremely reckless sit back and wait for the chips to be gifted to you.
