HI,

I was just wondering , for my own piece of mind really.

Do any of you ever experience those tourneys where you never get out of first gear?

you get dealt trash hands from the start , cant make any moves due to action before you and end up becoming short and having to push?

I had one last night and it was most depressing…feels even worse than getting a bad beat …this was a turbo 45 SNg , so I suppose its more likely to happen with a very fast structure then a regular.

yes i do get these

agree its very frustrating – i really love mid and late stages of tournies, raising and 3betting and taking pots down preflop etc… so i hate it when i dont even get to these stages.

and you're right, they happen much more often in turbo's MTT's and like 45 and 180man turbos'

i think we all get these, just ride the waves out and it'l be alright matesmile

Its refreshing to see others grappling with similar frustrations.  Cold decks are clearly a feature of the game, but then again so are the hot ones!

I think you see this quite often even in non turbos in the fact that most levels in a normal tourney is 10min.  I am playing a lot on the merge network now since Black Friday and it seems as if I see fewer hands and the levels jump faster.  It is easy to get impatient and those marginal hands even seem better and then that is where I get in to trouble.  I just have to tell myself to wait for my spot and you are only a double up or two to 30-40+bb and can open yourself up to play some poker.  Just keep track of how many bb you have and make the most optimal decisions.  Best of luck.
