I'll brag first, third place in Merge 75K last night for $9374 but I made a questionable fold when we were four handed that started my demise. I was right that I was behind and would have needed river help when I folded the turn but I think I was priced in to call or, possibly, should have just shoved. I was worried I might be facing a better pair and a better flush draw. If I stuck around I would have had a big chip lead. Sorry, having difficutly posting the hand as desired. I'm “chiplocust”. the guy who won the hand won the tourney and $18,275

Congratulations on the score. I don't think the turn fold is the biggest problem here. You played the hand very passively throughout. I don't hate the pre-flop call, but in most situations I'd rather re-raise or fold. Once you flop so well, I really think you should check-raise.

yeah, shorthanded with a lot of $ involved i tend to be overly cautious. i've final tabled the merge sunday 150K like 5 times and twice came in third. my third place bustouts hands were pretty bad coolers as i had 1010<QQ and the other one flopped top two pair against the guy's flush draw and he got there. in my mind to win one of these things i am going to be challenged to make a “big fold” and i thought this was the one
also should have mentioned that Jroc is arguably the best player on this site and the other 2 guys were real tough. if i had an edge i think my passivity would make sense but here i should be willing to get it in with such a strong flop
