I have always consider that whilst variance is obviously a factor in the game we all love, too many low stakes players cry “varience” when really they shouldbe just playing better. Yesterday, however, I was doing brilliantly, best first 2 hours in 5 tourneys, deep in all of them, hit 2 straight flushes and quad aces and then this happened…
Lost Ak to At/Aj to A6/JJ to AT all in pre. 44 to QJ on a J94 flop. AA to AJs all in on 663 flop him with FD. Busted everything. Main cashed in 2 I think. Whatever.
It made me truly doubt my chance in this game. What am I supposed to do? Subscribe to a training site and play much better starting hands, better position, more selective aggression but get donked all day anyway? Play as bad as they are and run into better hands? Open shove Ak/ jam flush draws like they do? When theirs always get there but mine never do.
