hello all,

i am new to the site…. so i ll tell few things about my self

i play 1 full year now started on ipoker, but i moved to stars fast and i play on tilt and osme party atm. i am a winning player with average buy in of 22… so i grind every day the 33 freezout on stars (shiped 3 in this year) and the 26on tilt …. generally i am up around +10k(winnings without any major score, just several 2ks and 3ks wins) now after a mejor downsweing that have blown my 4k bankroll down to 1100$…

i play every day from 6 to 15 tourneys… the last 5 weeks lost 2,9k. i have like 18 finishes in places between 9 and 20 (bubble final table?) most of the times with bad beats… i lose all the critical hands… even if it is like AA vs JJ all in on flop 356…. j turn … no point to start the stories everyone knows them.

now what i have tried

1. i have tried to take a break for 2-3 days playing only 3 tourneys or so

2. have tried to reduce the number of tourneys i play per day

3. have tried to mix in lower stakes games like 3r and 2r and 5r sats with small fields in order to boost bankroll and morale… (and lowr my average buy in as my bankroll goes down)

4. i have been using more time to study and work at my game (proof that i joined this site 🙂 lol )

first i need to ask a qeuastion… i have downswings befor but never so bad.. i mean there are days without a single cash.. with like 15 bad beats (it takes several to lose 1 tourney some times) and it is like 5 weeks now… how it lasts ? 2 months? 3 months? a year? lol

i need to consider my bankroill managment options

1. try to find stacking in order to keep grinding the 33s and 26s tournays… but do i really want to give up my earning that will come for sure? (i mean even now after os much loses i have like 45%+ ROI)

2. drop at stakes and start playing up to 11 freezout max?

3. focus mainly on small field tourneys of 26 (sats of ftops mainly? or sngs at party?)

any other suggestion?

Also i have a serius problem it seams i cant stop play some tourneys that i have puted on my schedule like the 33 that is ealry on morning (europe time) and the 5rebuy rush … where now only those are like 53$ per day… lol

i am open to dies suggestions or any kind of advice…

Well first of all I would say that you need to drop down to lower buy in tourneys. With 1.1K in my bankroll, assuming I didn't want to risk having to redeposit at anypoint. I would want to have a 6 to 7 dollar avg. buy in. And that is pretty aggressive IMO. RonFezBuddy had a great article on bankroll managenent you should check out. I would link it but alas, I am computer illiterate and lazy. So just go to the articles area and check it out. I would play some of the 4/180's and 10/180's on stars as well as some of the small buy in capped tourneys to get my abi and level of variance down. I would also mix in some of the mt/sng's as these could be a great bankroll stabilizer. Anything to start adding some buy ins back into your bankroll and bring some confidence back in your game.

Bad swings happen. Sometimes they are huge, sometimes they are small. It sounds like whatever downswing you are facing is most certainly going to be made worse by the negative impact to your self confidence, which in this line of work only makes things worse. My advice, is take a week or so off. Spend several days away from the game, don't think about, don't worry about it. Get some time in where you are thinking about other things and focusing on outside stuff. Once your head feels clear and you are more relaxed go through your HH's. Take a look at how you are playing and what is going on. Post spots in the forum or try to hook up with some of the regular posters and see if they will look through a HH or two for you. Get some perspectives on your game and see if anything has crept in on you. Once you get through that, you have a clear head and you have identified anything to work on, I would suggest dropping back a level and work on building your confidence back up. Get into a player field where you feel you have a definate edge and work on your game and rebuild your confidence. GL with righting the ship!

I had the same thing happen on pokerstars….I moved to ub and totally turned my game around. I would take a week off, watch all the vids, and play on ub. I feel that the smaller tourneys are a def plus when it comes to bankroll building.

Yeah definitely check out RFB's bankroll management article. Even try Jennifear's articles on pocketfives.com

Dropping down, watching vids, time off are all good things. Also paying one of the pros to go over a couple of you HH for leaks is also good. I've used Wein for that.
