Live Tournament Success: Seven Final Tables in 2 Months

I started playing more Live tournaments since the middle of July.  Since the beginning of August, I've had the following success.

– Final Tabled 3 tournaments at Delaware Park (my 'home field'), including a 6th place finish in a 15K guaranteed.

– First place chopped my only tournament at Harrahs in Chester PA, a $65 buy-in.  This was my first 4-figure score

– FT'd my only tournament at Ebro Dog Track in Panama, City FL while there on vacation.

– First place chopped two of the three tournaments I played at the Hard Rock Seminole in Tampa, the past week while down there for business.  Both 4-figure scores.

In this time, I've been able to almost triple my bankroll and now have enough to play WSOPC when they come to Chesters and AC in the next six months.

I'm not sure what doing well in these types of tournaments tells me as far as what type of player I am.  Obviously it's not a bad thing, but I don't know if this really means I'm any better or worse than you're usual tournament grinder.  And OBV, two months isnt a huge sample size.  I don't have a ton of friends that play poker but the ones that do tell me to enjoy it while it lasts.  Am I kidding myself if I start to think I'm any good?  My online results are paltry at best.  A FT here or there, but nothing special.  I think most of the people that play these events are tourist fish who just don't know what to do when somebody 3-balls them.

Nothing to sneeze at, well done. Playing live can be extremely profitable but we got to remember that live poker has variance too and since you play a lot less volume live, that variance can get frustrating when on the down side. Keep up the hard work!

I appreciate the feedback.  There's no way I'd be wherever I have from poker without the help of this site.  I've learned a lot and I know there's still a ton more work to do.
