anyone who wants to feel better about themselves i thought id share a couple of donk hands i played last night that helped me crap out in 25k and 50k tourneys on merge (18th and 5th place respectively) i went from chip leader to to out the door in both of them quickly and in similar fashion
after dragging a nice pot i thought it made sense to 4bet jam over a tight player, my kj ran into his kk. any sympathy for this move or just pure spew city?

a few hands later i busted when i 4bet jam 21 bb with 1010 and ran into qq (also questionable because of table dynamics)
my bust out hand in the 25k was also pretty hideous…having 2nd thoughts and deciding not to show it:(

No sympathy for the all-in shove… sorry. No need.
4bet shoving here is fine if you have the sufficient read and dynamic. high variance but not complete spew if you have the right villain

well, a bit of a self-pitying post after a good session but this hand was bad and had me ticked. my describing the villain as tight was innacurate; he was hyperaggressive while he had the chip lead but lost 70% of his stack on several ill conceived bluffs. i should have said he had tightened up and was obviously in the waiting-for-a-real-hand mode. i didnt think, just insta-jammed. after watching the last mike sowers series where he was talking about proper breathing technique i promised myself i would take this advice and act slower (especially on final tables). here, i didnt
I don't think this is the right light 4betshoving target, just because as you said he was tight player. Also he is the shortest stack of the table, so I don't really think we would be 3betting light from SB.
A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work.

No Smypthy at all. You dont 4 bet tight players since they play super tight they have a free pass to 3 bet me as a bluff from time to time and there is nothing i or you can do about it.
I agree, and the one time when you give them credit for being a “tight” player, and show up with AJ or 99, it doesn't seem worth it over the long run. JMO.
