Hi

Feeling frustrated when yet another squeeze play failed when I ran my AQ against KK and no ace to be found. I have been learning to play more aggressively and do squeeze plays and 3bet shoves rather than flatting or folding. Problem is whenever i get called I lose and, for example it doesn’t matter which side of the race I am. Yes I know all about variance, but I just want to have that magical tourney where what I am learning actually works so I don’t bust near the bubble or just in the money.

Sorry to vent, but one FT every 2 years is not enough….

i know how you feel, go look at all my crying in the bad beat forum on pocketfives.  there’s going to be times when you feel like you’re losing all your flips, but it happens to almost everyone.  I suggest picking up the poker mindset—book great for dealing with variance.

Hi

I have that book and I fully understand variance, but I’ve been running bad for too long and all my studying (books, here, PXF, PSP, and coaching from MSCELL) seems to be getting me nowhere as I continue to be a losing player.  I actually blame myself as I must me making moves at the wrong times, and making a myriad of other mistakes that I am too thick to see. It has to be me as no down swing can stretch as long as mine has.

I feel your pain dude.

But I think the mind set should be to enjoy it and play within your financal means. This will help with bad beats, allow you to freely try out new moves, strategies and be more pateint. Also, at lower levels you get the weaker players so more chance of doing well.

I’m a losing MTT player, I’d love to know from the pros how long it took them to become profitable and how much $$$ they lost during that learning stage.
