You crushed it from a +EV perspective, well done, and as Kalculater said, nice bet sizing. These suck outs at micro level happen all the time huh? I'm currently taking a week long break from the tables to work on my mentality and get my mind right when it comes to this sort of thing.  Poker stars can be cray cray.

How big was the field btw?

They happen just as often at any stakes.

Kalculater – You're saying that at any stakes, people will call a 5x 3-bet to set mine? Also, are there many $100+ buy in players playing anywhere in the realm of 49/2?

I am playing midstakes(100+) and have never seen 49/2. I think the bet sizing is a bit big regardless esp with pocket aces and against an opponent like that. I would split my chips into 4 sections and bet on everystreet the river being an all in.

As you will not fold AA to this clown, you are getting your money in anyway, however, with raising that much, it is always a risk he will fold. I would fly low radar and let him hang himself.

I mean thats me, open to hear thoughts. I would make it the same raise I have been using which is about 2.25x.

I always keep my bet sizing not to give clues. I will raise this much with AA or KQs.

Hoping to hear thoughts…

I had been keeping my raises fairly standard, including raising bigger when this guy was in the pot. He loved to call. I wanted to play fast against him for that very reason. I know it's being skewed by results, but he was calling down and catching his rivers.

Why do you think the bet sizing here is too big?

Today I was set mined on two occassions by people with similar stats to 49/2 while holding AA.  One of them was even an 8x just to get rid of the insane amount of limpers that were in the pot.  Fish flat called with 55.  Are you telling me this same thing happens at both mid and high stakes?
