I have much more history playing Online on Lock than live. I tend to play much better live than online and enjoy the game better. Based where I live, it’s difficult driving to the casino to get practice.

What do you recommend nation to really work on live play? What is good to play to work on my game so I can gain maximum effort at the real table? is it underground cash games, is it really online tournaments or just take trips to the casinos and play donkements? Just curious.

Just getting yourself in the live arena will help you better prepare. As for skills you will want to have, exploiting tendencies comes in super handy, as a lot of live players will do stuff you won't see as much online, like tons of limping, 3-betting very narrow value ranges, limp/folding <20bb stacks, etc. Just be very observant of what you see from these live players and adjust accordingly. It can be hard to adjust from shoveling money in the pot with JJ/AK, but against some of these guys you will never be ahead there.

I totally agree with Julius187…………. everything he said.  Nothing beats playing in a donkement at a casino.  You just don't get the same feeling when you're playing with a full tbl of friends or a buddies house.  The live players can play like the moh-moh's from online.  So are just as bad.  Depending on the tourneys, you'll see so much limping, not much 3bet, lots of flatting………….. Just be patient…….. Play in position, play somewhat tight and observe what they are doing at the tbl………..  You'll be making FT's before you know it.  GLGL my friend………….

just be aware that most casinos offer tournaments with terrible structures. to get a structure anywhere near what youre used to online, youll be playing $1600+ buy ins.

i know we here at TPE favor MTTs but playing live cash would be a great way to get “used” to playing live if youre a predominantly online player. read Caro's book of tells, then play some live, then read it again. that book made me tens of thousands playing $1/$2 when i was 18-20 years old.

and above all else GL
