I played poker periodicly througout military/education and job, and amassad about $70k in profit over those 6 years. I had long breaks and didn't devote a lot of time to playing for the most part, probably played somewhere around 50-70 days a year. So I always wondered how it would go if I gave it a serious shot, but never really found the motivation to do that. I work as a freelance tv editor, so when my contract ran out at the end of this november I decided I would finally give playing poker full time a shot.
Stats: 119 tournaments
ITM: 17.6%
ROI: 526%
Top wins:
$8.6k in a $20 rebuy (threeway chop)
$6.5k in The Hot $16.50 (2nd place)
$3.6k in The Big $22 (5th place)
Cash (Mostly 100nl, some 50plo and more 25plo)
$1200 over small sample of 5000 hands (tournaments are so time consuming, so I'm trying to get comfy playing cash again, used to play 200NL, b and 100PLO but I kinda need to prove myself profitable over a longer time before I feel like returning)
Anyway, I know this is an extreemly small sample and doesn't indicate much at all, but I'm excited that it's going so well and wanted to share 🙂
