After not being able to put in an MTT session in a few weeks, i decided to load up some tourneys on 888 and stars. (in the past few weeks i have mostly been losing playing HUSNG and Cash, but volume has been pretty low in general)

So i load up the big $33 on stars and the $55 Nightly High rollers on 888, and promtly brick them off as well as multiple other $22s on 888. Mostly getting 3 outered or cold deck situations. I am thinking, why do i play goddam MTTs, i hate them so much sometimes.

So im nearing the end of the night, stuck for over $200 in buyins, and i only have 3 tourneys running, a $11 10k gtd on stars, a $11 888pl league game on 888 (which had 43 runners) and a $11 1700 gtd on 888

Long story short, i end up winning the 888pl league game for $150, i bust out in about 60th/1200 in the stars game which was disappointing, but then i end up binking the $1700gtd as well for $537, and end the night +500. Now i know why i love MTTs so much 😀

I prolly should have turned this into a blog post but meh. This weekend I am flying to melbourne to compete in the 888pl grand final, which is a $550 2 day event, 20k start stack and 40 min blinds. There should be around 300 runners making a 150k prize pool, so it should be awesome fun, and a nice chunk of change for first. I will be wearing my TPE patch (thanks KB) so i hope i get a winner's photo with the patch on!

So im happy that im back in form, just hope i havent used up all my rungood

Made it to day 2 of the main event, 85.3k, average is 60, blinds will be 1200/2400. 308 started, 98 left, 50 paid, which is retarded. 35k for first. After day 1 finished, player in a $80 partners event And final tabled that for 7th and $205 so running really good at the moment, hopefully another final table tomorrow

Ended up having the sickest run ever on the weekend, I finished 6th in the Grand Final for $6k, my second biggest score,  and a $1200 ticket to their next big tournament. So i played 3 tourneys for 3 final tables and 9.2k in cash and tourney entries. Awesome weekend!

The TPE patches got in quite a few photos too – here are a couple.

Me with my awesome chip stack – was only about 1.5 times average but it looked much nicer because i was the only one that was active at all so i had just about all the 100 and 500 chips in play just from stealing the blinds and antes 😀

Shipped an adelaide champs main event ticket in a home game satellite last night. $1500 buyin tourney, 40k start stack 40 min levels

…..af27-0.pdf

will only have about 60% of myself because other people participating also got some percentages, but it should be really fun, and it will be my highest buyin tourney although i am quietly confident

not a bad tourney series all up

finished 31st 🙁

Ran horribly. AK < 83o for a 60bb pot and probably the chip lead, then lost about 4 other flips

oh well, felt like i played well and didn't feel out of my depth at all so it was a good experience at all.

well and truly out of the downswing now!

in december last year, i had my biggest ever online score, shipping a 3r for 2200, so i was feeling on top of the world. my bankroll was at an all time high, and i was feeling really good.

so as a result of that, i decided to take a shot at the $525 Aussie Millions satellite on 888, and got lost KK to T7 in horrible fashion. Whether that affected me or not i dont know, but i think proceeded to go on my worst downswing ever, wiping off around $1100 in total. Then i went to melbourne to play in a tourney series which i also bricked off everything, and that took another 1k out of my roll (not BRM but i knew that)

so in the past few weeks, i have got back to the grind, and gradually things started turning around. i had a couple of small scores that meant i was breakeven instead of losing.

then last week, i decided to start playing the $50 games on 888 again, which i had dropped out of my schedule because of the downswing, and finished 9th and 12th in consecutive nights. so the confidence was back.

and then it all clicked last night – i only played a small session because i wanted to go to bed early, but that just meant i ran deep in everything 😀

after a LONG heads up battle with cousteer (over 1 hour i think) i finally managed to bink the first TPE Live race home game, which we got 6 runners to, which was nice. good fun game too, i encourage anyone to play if they are keen on having the chance to play in a 1k+ live game. I then went on to bink a $8 500 cap turbo on stars for $800, and finishd 4th in a $22 deepstack on 888. so all in all i had close to a 1k night.

just thought i would say that TPE is awesome for the support they give other people on the site – the skype group especially. At the moment i feel like my game has improved so much that it is only volume holding me back from gettign the BR to move out of the low/mid stakes and playing some bigger stuff. I think writing the “whats new” has helped a lot because it forces me to watch all of the videos and comment on them lol.

anywho, tldr, just thought i would say how much i love this place and how much my game has improved since joining here.

I have a suggestion for a new video though – a theory video how to avoid loading up the zoom poker tables would be nice

good job to you Benny. I like the “What's new” column you do. By the way, my name is swhitelex, not “switelex”. I can go by lex… Anywhos glad to see you on your upswing. We hear alot about downswings and not too much about the upswings. Great job.

Complete access to hole cards denied by stars… The other option is to collate each players hh, and insert the hole cards ourselves. I don’t know whether a replayer can cope with it. I requested my hh from stars via the tournament number and it was emailed to me straight away. If we all do the same, we’ll at least have it in the same format. It’s easier than going through a series of hh files on your hard-drive.

what i want to try out is whether we can add “cousteer shows [kc jd]” or whatever to the end of each hand, whether that will then show up in the replayer as a “showdown” even if that player wasnt actually involved in the pot.

as we discussed, the other option is just all jumping onto skype and running through the hand history together and telling each other what we had. i am happy to do that any time.

Can someone please tell me why i have never played 180 turbos before?

For some reason i have always avoided them, i think prolly just because i thought they were reg infested, and if i was going to play a 180 i may as well play an MTT, so as a result i played either MTTs or 45 man sngs for a smaller session.

In the last few days i have decided to start playing some and OMFG i love them already. Shipped a 15/180 and final tabled three or 4 8/180s from like 20 of them, i think i am +1200 this week!

So if your push/fold game is decent, i would definitely recommend everyone load up some turbo 180s, although i suspect most people already were and i am just a retard who never realised how good they were.

i never remember to start a sweat thread, but i just shipped a $54 tourney on ongame, for like $650 😀

I never play on ongame, but stars had a server reset and i didnt wanna wait the 30 mins for it to come back up lol!

that is my biggest score recently but i have made a TON of deep runs, including final tabling the big 33 but then busting in 9th, but i am feeling great at the moment, and i feel a really big score is just around the corner

Just about to head to crown casino for “The Main Event” which is pub poker's big 6 monthly tourney.

it is a 1k tourney, 100k guaranteed for first. I think they are expecting around 500 runners or a shade under. Day 1a was yesterday, and my little bro, junior burger, is second in chips with 200k or so. now its my turn hopefully.

will update as i go along.

Ok, so I didn’t really get a chance to update but I managed to make day 3 with around 380k, blinds come back at 10/20. Because the tourney is full of pub nits that is like 12th in chips out of 50 left. 480 or so started the tourney. Cash was at 50 so guaranteed $1900 so far but $100k up top which includes 90k cash, AM main event and a bracelet. Something like that anway. My little bro has average stack too so hopefully dual final tables. I have to play in 9 hours so should be asleep, but I’ll be rocking the TPE patch tomorrow. Gl me

was pretty disappointing, but after my little bro and i were 1st and second in chips at one stage, we ended up not getting much going on day 3, and he busted in 21st for $2500 and i busted in 20th for $3500.

was really fun but still pretty disappointing. one of the people we were travelling with finished 10th though so that was nice. Here is a photo that the live reporting team made up on day 2 when we were chip leaders. russ is rocking the tpe patch (i had it on too but then had my jumper on)

just told duggs about the hand that got me the chip lead for a while, and he said i should post it here.

here is the funnest hand
about halfway trhough day 2, blinds are about 2k/4k and i have about 230k, so it was deep
about 150 left at this stage, my bro was second in chips after day 1 and was caging and had like 400k at this stage and was cl

there was a dude on my table that was obviously new to the casino because he didnt know rules like you have to stay in your seat if you have a hand etc,
he kept wanting to get up and walk around when tanking etc.

so there were a few times where i made it clearly known to him what he can and cannot do. and to his credit he was like thanks for telling me i really want to know this etc.

was a bit of a douche and you can tell he ran his pub game, but kind of ok i guess.

now, he had about 30k more than me, and he was trying to be table captain. he was super active, but his open sizes were retarded and they changed from like 2.5x to like 4x etc.
he was on my direct left.

there was a couple of times where i opened his bb from the sb and he 3bet me and i folded.

then there was another time where i picked up kk on the button and actually misclicked a bit and made my raise size smaller than it was before because the level went up.
he folded but commented on the raise size being small etc.

so basically he was trying to be table captain and he knew enough about what was going on that he would be aggressive and also try to level me.

ok, so this time i pick up kings again in the small blind (must be nice) and i open bigger this time as he obviously sees smaller bets as being stronger, and he 3bets me.
i am like WEEEEEEE on the inside.

i tank for a while, and 4bet him really small, like min. (this helped a lot because the dealer was bringing in the bets as we went.
so i could literally click it back and it wouldnt look super small)

at this stage i made the read that he was relatively light and he was trying to get me to fold or own me pretty much.

so i clicked it back, like min+1k or something, and then he went for a 5 bet

and literally as his chips hit the felt, i just snap said all in. i did this because i think it looks like i am trying to make a play myself. at least in his eyes.

then he goes into the tank for TEN minutes. no joke. just tanked forever.

and this was a pot for the chip lead. it was announced over the microphone, everyone from surrounding tables come over to see what was going on.
all the time i am trying to stay super still and i pick out a spot on the table and just stare at that spot,
which is what i always do when someone is tanking. and he tanks forever, and tries to talk to me but i say nothing, and then he starts saying shit like i cant put you on a hand,
i think you are making a move etc etc. and i am ****ing dancing on the inside and i think he has JJ or QQ,
and then he starts saying how good a hand this is and i was like wow does he rreally have kk as well?
and he just kept on tanking forever and then finally makes the call and turns over AsQc!!!!!!!!! the crowd goes wild because this is for the chip lead. there is prolly 30 people standing around the table.
flop is all low, but turn gives him a flush draw, which luckily bricks off, and then after the river i get pretty pumped and me and my bro are like **** yeah 😀

so that was a long story about a preflop spot but i thought it was super fun. definitely non standard in a tourney where most people fold down to 4bb and think a 3bet is just raising 3x preflopl

so for an hour or so after that me and my little bro were top 2 in chips.

and then for the next 4 hours or so i had the same chip stack. :(. ended the day 12th in chips with like 50k less than what i had about 3 hours into the day. super frustrating.
