I didn't think I'd write a bad beat but I just took one that takes the cake. In a $2 turbo, the blinds just went to 25/50 and I have 1800 chips. I get dealt KK. Three limp ahead pre, I raise to 450. Everyone folds but the last limper. The flop comes Qh Tc Th. I shove. I get called with ——————— 8h 3h. The turn is a 8s, and the river is a Jack of hearts. I nearly threw my laptop into the wall.

In the last 16 hours I've been eliminated from micro tourneys holding KK and losing to a Q3ss rivered flush, AA to J8o rivered str8 and AQo where I hit 2 pair on the flop and lost to a wheel str8 where the asshat held 23cc hitting runner-runner 4 and 5.

Gotta love those micros.

I have decided that I will no longer post bad beats as its not healthy for me to dwell on, but I feel your pain.

JDog –

That's generally my feeling. I'm the kind of person who usually gets it out for a few minutes, reviews the hand and previous play to look for my own miscues, and moves on. These last 16 have been weird. I feel like my play has outgrown micros…. some might say, 'well you should be winning.' At this level, though, there are so, so many people casting any poker logic to the winds, you never know when you're going to run into someone calling a 9XBB raise after 3 limpers with an 83hh….

Actually, I think I need to pursue a stake so I can play higher buy-ins. Do you have any suggestions?

This kind of play doesn't stop at micros… sngs well up to the ~$25 levels (at least) and full fledged MTTs much higher are still full of terrible play like this.

I busted out of a $55 freezeout yesterday because someone decided to call a raise and a reraise for 18 big blinds total with 46s and flops a straight to my KK.

Watch Wein's latest sunday mill vid, a guy defends his blind with 6 high and refuses to give up and punts his 1.5 million chip stack off over 3 streets.

Wow. Maybe I need a break. I just busted out of the Sunday 1/4 Mil qualis after being in 2nd in chips with about 40 players left. I lost three hands where I got it in better than all-in calling opponents: QQ vs. AJo – J on the flop, A on the river. QQ vs. K8o – 8 on the turn; TT vs. 55 – 5 on the river.

They're all still playing – and I'm writing this (lol – cuz that's all I can do).

Just downloaded Wein's run. I'll check that out.

Mmm Tastyyy

QQ v K8o 8 on the turn, how is that a beat? Also thats the reason there micros right, you can get a lot of volume in(due to low cost) and flatten out your variance.
