Hey- Trying to get a thread going for those of us who play on a Mac. Lets get it going.

Anyone get CardRunnersEV working on a Mac? ACR? Slice? How?

What software are people using?

ACR will only work if you use an emulator. I'm not sure if the same applies to CREV and Slice – I haven't looked into it.

I use PT4 for my HUD and play only on Merge and Bovada, though I recently upgraded to a new iMac and haven't been able to get the Bovada client to run (I finally got the instructions how to tweak my security settings but haven't done it yet). I've reduced my volume a lot due to time constraints so I haven't really cared that much nor does it seem worth it to install an emulator so I can play on ACR – though if I do, I'm pretty sure PT4 won't work on it.

I use VMware to play ACR. Poker Tracker will work as long as you run it in VMware.

What I'm not clear on is whether you can use 1 HUD database while running poker software on both VMware and the Mac side. I don't see how it would work, so I guess you might as well just run the PC version of everything through VMware.

Slice works perfectly fine on my MBP. All I did was DL and install it. I run PT4, because HM2 didn't work on a Mac. Since i'm in Canada, I play on Stars and 888 – both of which have Mac clients.

I play on Stars and 888 so far. Works great on my MacBook Pro.

I use PT4 and the HUD from ProPokerHUDs, works both great.

You can always install the PostgreSQL db on the Mac host os, then edit the postgres conf-file pg_hba.conf to allow network connections from your vmware guest. (the pg_hba.conf file: …..-conf.html)  This way you can point your guest os PT4 installation to the host (Mac) pgsql and use the same db for both os:es. Mind you cannot use two PT4 writing to the db at the same time so you have to choose whether to play all-mac or all-pc at any given time. PT has not complained to my installing it in this way. Yet.

I have my pgsql installed on my synology nas on the network. This way I always get the same pt4-db no matter what computer I run on at home (3 different macs with differrent vmware/parallels virtual machines on them.)

Great replies. lets keep it going. Great tip about runnning both PT4's off one database. I am having trouble with Slice. It only runs if I keep the “sliceimage” disk image on the desktop. If I move it or delete it, Slice will not open. Also, I can only have 4 players in Slice. I think I have an unregistered or unpaid for copy? I would def. pay for it but the website says there was a sale of the company or something and I am unable to reach anybody to purchase it. Anyone know whats up?

I think I need to get VMware. never used it before. Currently, I am using Flopzilla with Crossover, and Holdem Resources which is native to mac, and PT4. Anyone have any luck with pokersnowie on mac? I thought that might be fun to check out.

You can try running some of the Win programs with WINE on Mac.

This is how I run Equilab, which I like quite much.
