I am trying to decide which to go with, icmizer or holdem resources calculator. Any recommendations as to which is better?

I think I have downloaded the free version of icmizer and somehow it’s in German. So it’s basically useless for me now. I haven’t looked at holdem resources calculator but now that you mention it, I will have to do a little research. For my HUD, I use Holdem Manager, but after watching an amazing video by an amazing poker coach, I noticed he used Poker Tracker. And some of the features on it seemed pretty awesome. Ones that I don’t think or at least don’t know for sure if are available on HM. For those features alone, I am considering switching.

I will def. look into holdem resources calculator, and see if it’s worth purchasing for my experience level. I find that some of the software programs the pros use like Andrew Brokos is far beyond the scope of my abilities and I find them extremely intimidating like the PIOSolvers and what not. What do you think about those programs Rppoker? I would eventually like to use them but I think I am light years away from being capable.

I am going to walk before I run. I figure the next step is icmizer or holdem resources calculator. Once I get comfortable with one of those then I will see if I think I am ready for the next level stuff like piosolver (which I know little about other than its existance).

Have you checked out Equilab? That’s a free one that’s pretty useful. Also, I like flopzilla. It was $35 when I purchased it and IMO it’s a great software. It allows you to not only calculate equities of your hand vs a range across all 5 streets, it has HoldEq built in that allows you to look at range vs range across all 5 streets with next card equities. It’s pretty awesome and I highly recommend it.

I’m not too familiar with ICMizer. I have mixed feeling about HRC. The big problem with it is that it’s easy to misuse, though that’s true of all advanced poker software. Definitely don’t need to invest in Pio. I still think you have low-hanging fruit available to you just with SnapShove and an equity calculator. I also don’t have strong feelings on PT4 vs HEM. I doubt it’s worth buying PT4 if you already have HEM.

How can HRC be misused Andrew? (Oh, and btw thanks for your response to my questions on my video…I never msg’d you to say thanks).

FWIW I started by using…wow…I have forgotten what it was called…the original ICM calculator…SNGwiz…it came to me. It was ok, although I had no clue what I was even looking at.

I used HRC for years now and I swear by it. Many folk seem to like the UI of ICMizer2 but they both do the same thing. After a sesh I run 5 hands I was unsure of thru it and decide and mentally verbalise (mentalise?) the lesson I can take away from it.
