I play on a small poker site were the biggest tourneys are 400 deep, and mainly regs. I get good notes on the players and save  key hand historys where they showdown. In the rules they have bots and tracking software banned. I contacted my poker site as I found Tournament Indicator worked on there, they told me they have no way to stop it, and people do use it.

Do you think I might be missing out by not using this programme? Holdem Manager or Poker tracker aren't compatible… It has some stats Vpip% Pfr% ·Bet etc…. I just don't want to give my opponents an edge by them building a database that I dont have.

 Thanks cool

My feeling is that the more you pay attention, the less important tracking software is.  For example, when you play live, you can get all the reads that you need just by watching and thinking about the action (rather than diddling around on your phone or staring at the cocktail waitresses' arse) without the benefit of software, because there's not a ton of information you need to process with one table moving at the slow pace of live poker.  When you're online, the introduction of multiple tables and other distractions can sap your focus, therefore making tracking software more and more useful.

If you're a good note taker and noting more than just showdown hands but also things like preflop opening and 3 betting tendencies, you can certainly get by without it.  If you're multitabling or not going into that much detail, I do think there's value in having software that helps you define your opponents' ranges.

another important function of tracking software which often gets overlooked is the travking and review of your own results. Graphing your own win/loss, as well as being able to easily review tough hands is also a very important function.

even if you have the hud turned off, i believe that holdem manager of poker tracker is worth it for that reason alone. it astounds me that some people can play for hundreds of dollars a day but cant fork out < $100 for something like this.

Thanks for the replys guys 🙂

The stats will maybe help me a bit, but most reviews on Tournament Indicator come out saying that it is only good for beginners.

As my Hem or Poker Tracker wont work on my poker site, can anyone reccomend any other tracking software?

As for replaying the game, I normally just use my hand histories, flick throught them for revising my game. And I note the hand number of all the interesting hands against a specific player, then look at the hand again when I next play them, as you can search by hand number. When I have a few similar hands I will normally swap the hands for some general notes.

I know Tournament Indicator tells you your M level, but I don't think it adjusts your statistics regarding your current M level. I will contact them now to find this out. If this is true, then it will likely help me to make more mistakes.

If it was a choice between using Hem of Tracker, I would know I was missing out. Here tho, I have only found 1 programme that works, and it is Tournament Indicator. It records the hands from the chat window, in game, as my site does not offer hand historys saved to the pc.confused

FYI, I only play 1 table at a time, sometimes 2, for a Final Table Jackpot..

  Cheers……

I was thinking bovada, but he said he takes good notes, etc which would mean it cant be Bovada.

I used to love my HUD. Then I got away from it. now Im back using it more than ever and cannot imagine not having it.

They got back to me from Tournament Indicator and told me that the stats are filtered by M, I might have to get it, just for the few stats it gives, unless I can find something else.. I got 1 night trial left anyway, it did my head in a bit last night tho…

 Thanks….cool

If it is clearly banned in the rules, then I wouldn't even risk F'n with it in my world.  Good notes and paying close attention > HUD (especially for <4 tables).  However, I do love and truly miss my HUD/tracker.  Tons to learn from it and so much easer to multitable with.  Great way to break down your game to the nth degree.
