Please explain your logic: you say you’d open 67 but not 45. whats your line( with 67) if the shorty on blinds shoves or Co/D 3bets small/ish? and whats the difference if you have 45?

    Thanks

you made your 3bet almost 4x the OPR
Wouldn’t 2.5x-3x achive the same goal and look even stronger when all you trying to do is to make them fold.

Hey thank you for your comment 🙂
Well the difference between 54s and 67s mainly is that 67s has ~2% more equity vs BB’s 3bet shoving range, but this is the case only when you are considering calling BB’s 3bet shove. Here when BB has 11 big blinds we can’t call either with 54s or 67s, we need 37% to make this call breakeven so 98s has 37.1% vs 44+,A7s+,KJs+,QJs,ATo+,KJo+ range, but with my stack and knowing how easy the field is in this tournament, I would fold 98s, I don’t like these breakeven spots at least not with these conditions. So my talk about 67s is pretty irrelevant in this particular spot, sorry for confusion, I’m still little bit too excited while making these videos.

If I choose to open in this spot, I would like to apply these conditions to opponents behind us :
    * 3Bet Frequency (Has to be low) – against random player with this hand and effective stack I don’t want to play out of position and definitely I would not recommend 4bet stack off against random, unless there is some dynamics, where you feel that you have decent amount of fold equity.
    * Bubble stage – if the players behind me are weaker, who I can identify that are trying to reach money, this 100% open spot, even if we get called our hand is perfect for post-flop play.
    * Important factor in general for picking spots is to feel table flow, is it more passive or aggressive table? What is your image? Stuff like that.

I personally would feel more comfortable opening this from early position than from High-jack, just because early position represents more strength for my hand.
Hope I answered your question 🙂

Well the factor that effects my 3bet sizing in this spot is the flatter, if I will be making just 2.5-3x 3bet sizing, those guys will be getting good pot odds for a call and my goal with this 3bet is to take this pot down pre-flop, not post. If there would be no flatter, then my standard 3bet sizing is around 2.25-2.5x.

    Hi sir,

20:30 you are thinking about setmining but do you think it’s ever good here ? His button raise probably is a pretty wide range (unless the HUD says otherwise) if we setmine here and hit it’s still unlikely he will pay us off enough. Therefor just using a ‘call 20 rule’ probably isn’t enough here right?

Maybe it’s a better spot to do a light 3-bet with sizing around 2k. I feel we have a lot of fold equity wich we want with this weak postflop hand. If he jams we can still get away from our hand (unless he’s like super aggro or when there are dynamics), if he calls we have postflop initiative and can make a small cbet to take it down as a bluff or we can hit and we are more likely to get is paid off.

I feel a light 3bet is always +ev here while a call probably isn’t. What are your thoughts about this ? Why do you think a setmine is profitable ? I think it’s only profitable when this btn player is a huge nit tbh or extremely weak postflop

    Thanks in advance !

35:55 he opens and the SB is short stacked. So his range shouldn’t be really wide, also when you 3bet the pot may be protected as SB may feel he should go all in light here (he gets great odds). If he does MP player also gets good odds to call .. and even if he doesn’t call A6o never does extremely well against SB’s all in range

That’s why I don’t understand why you think this is a good spot. But you are the coach, you won more and you play on higher stakes so could you explain to me why a light 3bet is good here ? Because I don’t really understand

    Thanks in advance !

Hey Wolfske, thank you very much for your comment! Actually I really like your suggestion, about that particular hand, I can’t remember at the moment what type of player Button was, if he was on tighter side I still like calling there, because even if I didn’t hit a 2 on flop, there are some flops that I won’t be giving up and repping something and if he is more aggressive player I don’t mind 3beting 22’s just because there should be decent amount of immediate fold equity.

  8. Wolfske

Yeah that’s true. I’m not really a good postflop player so that’s why I’m usually more agressive pre , it makes post easier. But I see your point !

    Thanks for your reply !
